Assign issue to me link no longer present

When raising an issue, there used to be a handy "Assign issue to me" link under the "Assignee" box. After recently upgrading to GitLab Community Edition 8.13.1, I've found that this link is no longer present. I can, of course, still assign issues to myself, but I found that link to be particularly useful.

Is there any chance this link will return in the future or was it taken out intentionally?
