plain diff does not match viewer commit diff

presents a completely different diff than

https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab-ce/commit/1f84518ab7128e302f44085b4ecd8686f3f2ea2d.diff and https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab-ce/commit/1f84518ab7128e302f44085b4ecd8686f3f2ea2d.patch

Which are the paths on the "plain diff" and "email patches" links, respectively, for the former.

I have this same issue with a commit in our local GitLab instance (v6.2.4). I fear it's an issue with the git commit history.

I discovered this in a local instance originally as well (v6.8.1 - most recent release). The global links were provided for ease of reproduction.
