This seems to be an animation related transient failure. I've given it a stab but nothing has worked yet so I'm opening this issue to attract other frontenders.

Looks like this isn't actually related to the dropdown animation. I can extend the animation duration so much that the dropdown isn't "visible" for the whole time and it still passes. What on earth could be happening?
