added .gitlab-ci.yml and modified ChangeLog

p.s. you asked me to split the merge request into two, there are many more files that should not be in the repo for example compile, depcomp, install-sh, missing and others as these can be generated (example .gitignore file here). I'm just going to file an issue since I'm not familiar with autotools.
