Add a spec which demonstrates #1163

This spec isn't pretty, I'm not sure the context is right, and I am tired but I figured having the spec which demonstrates the problem was a good idea.

I don't want a code review on this yet, but for those looking at #1163 (closed) this ought to help, as it took me a few minutes to work out what was going on.
