test: refactor assert tests

Rodrigo Muino Tomonari requested to merge github/fork/BridgeAR/refactor-assert-tests into master

Just some minor refactoring because the main file is huge. I also removed the historical makeBlock that obfuscated what was really going on and punctuated comments and small things like that.
