This isn't as clean as it could be because of https://github.com/nodejs/node/commit/04d07ed3ab95c973bfc4c549d2f4996cfc90046e. @bmeck or @guybedford do you mind double-checking this? I'm assuming that we don't want to merge into 12 the commit that was reverted.
